Over four billion years ago, Carbon and Oxygen bonded together to form a team. They had a big job: keep Earth cozy. Earth was grateful, letting Carbon know with friendly letters. 

But about three hundred years ago, things started to change. Carbon and Oxygen got carried away together with the humans– new machines and industry were changing everything. It was pretty exciting! They didn’t notice what was really happening to Earth: her rivers were fading, her forests were dwindling, and her glaciers were melting. Earth tried to tell Carbon.
